I got up to Grand Marais Friday afternoon and headed out to a spot I have wanted to shoot for quite a while. It’s about 12 miles east of Grand Marais just a short walk down the Superior Hiking Trail right off highway 61. It’s a tombolo, a small island that is occasionally connected to the mainland. It was dreary and overcast. My intent is to shoot this at night but I thought I’d take a couple photos to find a good spot to shoot from.
I’m hoping the weather will cooperate and I can get out here again for the shot I really want but I’m pretty happy with the way this turned out. This was a 30 second exposure shot with an ND filter.
